It was April 2017 when Wren and Charlie first met. Wren had recently graduated from Grand Valley State University, and began attending the Crossroads House Church seeking new friendships where Charlie had been a member for several years. A friendship grew between them as they each shared during group discussion.

One night, while leaving church, they made plans to go for a motorcycle ride together. As the weather grew warmer, they were invited to a Spring bonfire where conversation over music and travel drew them closer. That night, Wren gave him her phone number, and the next day Charlie called her and asked Wren out on their first date.

Soon after, they began sharing breakfasts together after church, they finally went for that motorcycle ride, and they consumed massive amounts of coffee together. Eventually, after months of planning and crafting, Charlie presented Wren with an engagement ring he made and they began planning their life together.

She said, “Yes,” by the way, but, “Thank you,” first.
